Industrial Barn Style
The house is composed of three pared down, industrial, French inspired barns with high ceilings and simple roof structures. The entrance which is a separate building, housing the staircase which leads to the study and guest rooms upstairs enables a wonderful, welcoming sense of arrival. We call it the "silo" as it is a very high, small structure with a vast steel window letting in lots of light. It's built of the red brick and houses a number of larger paintings. The staircase is industrial looking, made of steel with French Oak treads. The client enjoys the juxtaposition of some of their polished antique pieces of furniture, housed in front of the rough red bricked walls. The high ceilings of the home give a generous sense of space, despite it not being a huge house.
